Marshal Robert Cherry, Jr. was elected to his first term as Monroe City Marshal in 2020.
These are some of the reasons that he has strong support for reelection to a second term.
- Robert is a Monroe native who attended Lincoln Elementary and Carroll High School.
- He played football at Lane College and graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in History.
- As an educator, Robert taught history, physical education and coached football in Junior High in Tennessee and Louisiana
- He served in the U.S. Army and retired as an Army Staff Sgt.
- Robert earned a Criminal Justice Master’s Degree from GSU.
- He graduated from the US Marshal Court Security School.
- Robert gained the necessary experience to serve as City Marshal by serving and working his way up through the ranks in the Monroe City Marshal’s Office.
Robert and his wife Patricia have been married for 44 years. They have two daughters, two sons and six grandchildren.
